Hosts
A number of hosts exist within the network of various categorisations:
Internet Servers
Sol
Sol provides central or generic internet services, it is a physical server that masters DNS, hosts mail, game servers, web sites and services and other publicly accessible resources or services.
Neptune
Neptune is the primary node in a clustered application service.
Pluto
Pluto is the secondary node in a clustered application service.
LAN Servers
Mercury
Mercury is a low power device with dual ethernet ports that provides internet gateway routing/firewall/NAT services only.
Earth
Earth is the primary LAN server, hosting all internal only services like gitlab, zabbix, etc etc, it also provides a primary backup vault.
Jupiter
Jupiter provides offline backup services ; it is powered on once a day, snapshots and backups the network and then powers its self off again, containing a backup vault equivalent in size to Earth.
Proteus
Proteus is a raspberry pi configured as command and control server, running Master Control Program (MCP), disk unlocking services and quick access functions (see MCP)
Ganymede
Ganymede is a pocket PC with a good day's battery life, it is used as a remote keypad terminal (see 'daily network routine') as well as keeping some aspect of the network alive in case of a power failure.
